HELLOOOOOO OUT THERE

Wow.  I miss blogging.  I miss all of you, all of your blogs, all of your comments.  I just do.  I feel too busy lately.  Overwhelmed.  But it will all pay off soon with a much needed vacay with Hubby D (already booked)- yay!

How are all of you?  How's your summer?  What's new?

Here's the scoop in my neck of the woods, somewhat random (I haven't had a "randomness" blog in a while):

-I'm enjoying a mocha coconut frap with carmel this morning, D said it's like a Samoa cookie in a cup.  HAPPY!

- I broke my number one personal fashion no-no, and I bought white jeans.  They are capris and fit oh so cute

Joe's Jeans

Joe's Jeans (clipped to polyvore.com)

Photo not of me, but I would gladly trade mid-sections with this model!

-  We have family coming into town next week for Comic Con , this is like Super Bowl for my husband!

- We still haven't attached the drawers and doors on our hutch project (hence no photos yet)- I know, I know.

-  I had to buy a new iron, my old one actually had sparks flying out of the cord - yikes!

-  I've been working with some super sweet Etsy clients lately  :)

-  Somehow this weekend I think I'm going to get photos switched out in frames, complete Etsy orders, finish hutch doors, clean dining table area, dust and organize nightstand, hang frames in office, clean office, go through receipts in office, organize vacation binder, prepare decor for a trade show, go to D's Aunt/Uncles to consult for home remodel/design, organize ribbons, go to craft suppliers, and shave my legs.  Hmmmm.  At least Hubby D already vacuumed, dusted dining area, dusted living room, console table/entry, surface cleaned mirrors, took out recycles, and even made fresh homemade guacamole so that it had time to chill during our workout so we could mack last night.  Yes, he's pretty awesome.

I really truly can't wait to catch up with you all!

Randomness IX

1.  I cannot swallow pills with ease.  I'm lucky if I can get down a small aspirin without gagging.  I'd like to feel as if I'm improving, yet once I verbally expressed my confidence to Hubs that I feel like I'm getting better at it- gag again!

2.  Driving anywhere in CA is a daily struggle- sometimes I wonder if I should strap on a helmet and ugly jumpsuit.

3.  I can't wait to design our Christmas cards this year- we have a "theme" and I'm totally digging it!  I will blog them for sure!

4.  The weather forecast today is nearly 100 degrees, are we sure it's November?

5.  I'm so backed up with my hand-wash garments.  It's too embarrassing to announce how long they've been sitting in the wash tub waiting to be cleaned, I better get to it before D calls me out (which he may have already done a few times).

6.  Fave meal lately- oatmeal parfaits.  You can add some amazing things to oatmeal to turn it into a yum treat, but still feel like you're being healthy.  My fave- peanut butter chips, bananas, and caramel- don't tell me it's unhealthy because I'll keep convincing myself it is.

7.  Are we really into November?

8.  I'm super excited to share some amazing weddings I've made some decor for- super duper can't wait!

Randomness VIII

1.  I use swear words more than I'd like to admit. I need to learn to say "substitute words" in place of them and try to refrain from dropping expletives.

2.  Sometimes I let me eyebrows grow past the point of acceptable, which is actually unacceptable, ewwww.

3.  My husband and I make fun of the fact that we both wear retainers during the night (and I absolutely cannot speak clearly while wearing mine).

4.  To all crafters:  remain friendly, but keep it short and sweet.  I still do not understand, and probably never will, the questions and conversations people hold with the register clerks at craft stores.  Honestly, don't hold up the line because you feel the need to tell the clerk which project you will be applying to each and every item you are purchasing.  Wow.

5.  Project photos are coming!  Yes Faith, work has been done and I'll get to the garage this weekend to document the progress- yippee!

6.  Do you get "sick days" off work?  Mental health days?  Me......nope.  If I don't go in, I don't get paid.  I feel like taking several "mental rest days" as of late, then my pocketbook reminds me of reality.

7.  I should bake something for D, maybe some sort of dessert and be a domestic wife.  Will advise if anything comes about.

Randomness VII

1.  Discovering how to whip up the most awesome homemade facial mask is not only a money saver, it's like scoring the lottery for your skin (I'll post the concoction and spill the secret in another post).

2.  Reporting barking dogs as a nuisance is not as easy as one thought, after calls to the Sheriff, City Hall, the Health Dept, and Animal Control, I still have to follow up and continue to report it- possibly providing documents to City Hall- really?  How about sending an officer out to tell the owner that several little yapping dogs who bark at 6 AM, (most likely every hour of the day while I'm at work), 6 PM, 8:30 PM, 10 PM, Midnight, 1:30-2 AM is unacceptable- period!

3.  If I had unlimited funds, I'd honestly consider flying to Hawaii right now just to get a coconut mocha Starbucks frappuccino.

4.  I think I may have to pick up Martha's Halloween mag issue soon, can't get enough decor ideas even though I have yet to ever throw a Halloween party- doesn't matter, I'll keep buying shizzy.

5.  Attention craft stores:  if you're going to run promotional sales, how about keeping a decent stock of items on the shelf, so perhaps your store could actually profit from the sale (rather than being out of stock of the item before the sale even started, and then having none on the shelf for the sale)- hmmmmm, how does that work?

6.  I'm not quite sold on peep-toe boots exploding everywhere for this Fall, what do you think?  Cute, or defeats the purpose of boots?

7.  Still haven't touched either of those 2 projects- chair frame nor jewelry stand.  Faith- I know I better get on it before you stick it to me!

Randomness VI

1.  How does one become a fan of their own blog?  I don't know, but I'm a follower of S&S!

2.  Why do I get so excited for the evenings that Big Brother is on television?  Must not be much to watch these days.

3.  I'd love to be sitting in a chilled pool in Maui overlooking the coast with a lava flow in hand.

4.  I can't believe that our anniversary cake has been looking me straight in the eye for a few days, and I've only had one piece since Monday- now that is some restraint!

5.  Hubs and I made a Halloween purchase the other day- heck yes, it was an awesome candelabra.

6.  I have a chair frame sitting in the garage and jewelry stand in the bedroom, both waiting for a fresh coat of paint and some love to make beautiful again.  Now that I've put it in writing, one of these must be done by the end of September- someone hold me to it- please!!!

Randomness V

1.  Sunglasses really should be tried on before purchasing (I've decided they can never be purchased online).

2.  Laying glue-down wood floor with less than 3" planks is not my idea of fun.

3.  Martha Stewart's home kitchen collection is screaming my name- one of each please.

4.  Can't stand when you "pass" a song on Pandora, they have to flash an ad everytime and punish you for not liking a song before playing another (really.....!!?!)- ugh!

5.  Wishing today could be a beach morning- hubs, a sweatshirt, beach cruiser, Starbucks, long ride up the Coast.

6.  Not a fan of leggings that look like faux jeans and are worn in the place of jeans, um not for me.

7.  Temper Trap's "Conditions" album has been in my car well over 2 months and I've rocked out to it everyday.

8.  Love when my husband says "badass"- the tone, the usage, makes me laugh every time.

Randomness IV

Photo: oldcrowfarm on etsy

1.  Who enjoys wearing gladiator-style sandals that strap all the way up your calves???  Who really finds this comfortable, or cute?  I'd like to know one person to convince me.

2.  I like the smell of mini colored marshmallows, those little pastel colored ones that you really have no reason to buy because as an adult with no children (yet), what on earth would you be buying them for?

3.  My hubs will forever continue to use the word "Confidence" out of context as a running joke of my sewing machine's collection brand.  "Have some confidence" or "Are you confident in what you're making today"- what a booger.

4.  Again, very few people should wear white pants- like a VERY select few.  And those who do, how about wearing the proper undergarmets.

5.  I like foggy mornings- they urge me to want to get my usge Starbucks, wear a cozy sweater, and browse online.

6.  I'd like the DMV to explain to me why I should make a trip to their annoying, smelly, over-crowded office to renew my car registration since I did not receive my registration notice in the mail.   And why did it take 20 minutes to connect to someone on the telephone to tell me this?  Hmmmm.

7.  I'm really hoping to re-connect with my beach cruiser this summer- that sassy little pearl pink bike has been negelected for way too long.  It needs some love and I need some exercise.

8.  No one, I repeat, no one should even entertain the idea of using a weed wacker or blower before the 8:00 AM hour.  I don't care if I've been awake for hours and it's 7:00 AM, I don't want to hear that beast in the morning.  Give me some time to get outta dodge before annoying an entire 2 block radius.

Randomness II

It's Friday, thank gawwwwwsh.  I need the weekend.  I need rest.  This week has been brutal (for some reason I've felt extra tired this week).  I have my half-marathon to run on Sunday, so a total rest up weekend is not in store, but I can't wait until this run is conquered.  On a lighter note, just some things thought about:

Photo via Cupcake Social on Etsy

-I favor the look of handmade pinwheels, but really, what do you use them for?

-Getting woken up by your neighbors loud a$$ alarm clock BEFORE your own sounds off is not an amazing way to begin the day.

-Why does Office Depot offer coupons but then state they are not valid on purchases of printer ink, why else would you even go into that store?

-I'm tired.

-I want to crawl back into bed, stay home from work, and ask hubs make me a grilled cheese and pesto sandwich on french bread for lunch (which are the shiz by the way).

-I feel guilty for only making the bed once or twice this week, lazy!

-Why do people eat hamburgers and sandwiches in their car while they are driving?  Yuck.

-It's such a nice day out already, I will attempt to make it a good one!  Hope you will too!  Happy Friday!

Randomness

-Going to the dentist to get a crown is never a good thing (yes, I am doing this today- boo).

-I do not prefer to squish spiders that have made way into the house, it's a job for the hubs, but when he's not home, I must suck it up!

-Driving behind dillweeds whose maximum speed is below the speed limit or who have expired their smog check is really annoying.

-My husband is awesome!

-I wish I could wear sweat pants to work, and heck, a sweatshirt too.

-I've tried to resort to only drinking my Starbucks fraps on the weekends, and have failed miserably.

-One day I will get our office/work room in better order, but it probably won't be within the next month.

-I will have new photos printed for the frames around the house, and this must be done within the next month (long overdue, it's spring and we should not be looking at a pumpkin photo from 2 years ago).

-I seriously need to get going on business cards for S&S, it's driving me nuts not having them.

-Every single day I look at my wedding photos with such content- that day was perfect and so will all the other days as long as I have D by my side.

Have a happy day!
