Tuesday Tunes

I can listen to Band of Horses pretty much anytime of the day, over and over again nonstop.  They just evoke one of those sounds that jives with my taste, no matter what mood I'm in.

This morning, I'm sitting in our comfy bed working on the laptop surrounded my fluffy pillows and my good 'ol Starbucks (that hubs kindly brings me frequently- oh the best), a cream cheese pumpkin muffin (no comments T-Tams- I'm kinda being good, sort of), and the blinds slightly cracked open.  I wish I could delay time so I don't have to get up and drive to work.  I have some fun Etsy orders coming up and look forward to working on those in the evenings and early mornings.  A glimpse of my morning:

I'm also stoked on some goodies that we picked up this weekend while running errands, so I thought I'd share the small things that make me smile:

Martha lunch container with handy-dandy ice pack and all-in-one 3 container deal-io!  LOVE!

Two FREE Mac lipsticks (yes folks, recycle your empty Mac containers and when you've gathered 6, bring 'em in for a free lipstick).

Fresh Basil- Love the smell, love the taste, love the freshness!

UK Beauty

I love browsing Brides Magazine UK Edition (sooner or later you'll find out why I super love it)- but they always provide a fresh take on fashion, with a simplistic feel, yet refined and somewhat traditional approach.  The inspiration is  unending, even for ladies who are brides-no-more (uuhh hum), although I'll continue to peruse for the amazing fashion and goodies.  Still waiting for the new issue to arrive to my local bookstore (dang importing time frames), but I can't wait to snatch it up!

Feeling The LOVE

It's a pleasure to show off the talented work of an amazing photographer, Cassandra of Bluesky Photography.  Check out her blog as well, she's got such an amazing talent and holds that best friend personality that you can't help but love.

She recently captured an ultra-adorable family photo shoot with the absolute cutest little girls around.  Look closely and you'll see a S&S "LOVE" sign in the background.  I'm absolutely loving the LOVE!!!

Thanks Cass!

Back in the Groove- For Real!

Ok, ok, ok- so I've been MIA and now I'm back in full force.  That darn computer mishap almost 2 weeks ago got me spinning like crazy.  Lots of catch up was needed and it's quite the long boring story that no one wants to hear, nor would they ever want to happen to them.   A computer crashing in any "normal" circumstance is annoying enough, but a computer crashing on a designer causes chaos of all proportions, with the simplest of things needing attention (such as reloading fonts, reinstalling programs, etc.).  Lame.  I'm still in the process of getting it all running again, but am just now feeling the end to the catch-up-crazy-madness  (crossing fingers I didn't just jinx myself).  The past week and a half has been a blur.  Did you notice my last post said Tuesday Tunes, but the post was on Wednesday??!  Um ya, it's been kinda like that.

So, moving along- there are tons of exciting things to post, although I need to get snapping with my camera to document these fun happenings.  Here are a few things that have been on my mind:

-Looking forward to getting back some real photos from the recent weddings I've designed for- some of them will be out-of-this-world!

-Faith:  please call me out on the lack of project completion, because yes, neither project has been touched. My new goal- this weekend!

-I got some new threads a few weeks back (before our computer crashed) when I felt it was acceptable to spend money on new clothes since it had been a while.  Maybe a clothing post is well overdue?

-I'm feeling the urge to purchase something on Etsy, just because I feel like it.

-I'm determined to spend at least one evening relaxing on the sofa with hubs, doing absolutely nothing, and not worry about 10 gazillion other things while doing so.

-Can't wait to go running with D after work and feel like I am doing something for myself again.

-I figured out how to save/copy photos on the Mac and pull them into a programs/paste.  This is huge!

Yay!

Sneaking Back In to the Mix

Did I really fall off the grid for almost a week?  Sadly, our good 'ol Touchscreen HP computer decided to pose as an unreliable punk and crash on us last week, causing chaos in this pad.  With tons of Etsy orders on the line and the daily use of our computer, this was a huge mishap and set back.  I'm still trying to get back up and running again, but it's a slow process.  Mostly the process is time consuming because we transitioned from an HP with Windows Vista........to.............get ready.............

.........an iMac !!!!!  Woooo  Hoooooo!  My husband said a while back that he wanted our next computer to be a Mac.  Granted- and it's pretty dang sweet.  It's a new learning curve altogether, but one we hope to grasp over time.

Fall is Almost Here

Fall is such an awesome time of year- it's when we break out some different decor in our home, long sleeves can finally be worn (maybe a few times here in San Diego), and I look forward to going to Disneyland with hubs in October when the park is transformed into pumpkin mania (yes, as grown adults with no kids yet, we enjoy the D-land).  It's also the time of year I have to watch the food consumption, as all the baked goodies seem to call my name- more like chant my name.  This year, I'm determined to be good, starting now.

But last weekend was a no-holds-back type of weekend.  D and I went to our fave- Pizza Port, and macked some pizza and beer buddies, with extra ranch of course.  Sometimes there's nothing better than eating the most amazing food off of paper plates!  D allowed me to wear his flannel (by the way, I need to buy my own) so that I could get the full Fall vibe effect going on and didn't care one bit that I hardly put effort into getting ready with a huge lack of makeup or hair styled.  Hey, it happens.

And even though I've now vowed to be good when it comes to sweets, I found this awesome recipe yesterday for cupcakes and these will be made in our home- hands down- for sure!!!

Tuesday Tunes

On a foggy Tuesday morning, all I'd rather do is lay in bed under fluffy covers and watch our wedding video (also including this song "Everything").  Then maybe pop in a movie, the older version of Pride and Prejudice, with a Starbucks in hand, and perhaps a nap in the afternoon.  Ahhhhhhh..........instead I'm off to work.

Thinking of Our Day

Today I was thinking of our wedding day.  I can remember every detail so vividly- I hope my memories always stay that way.  I found this photo of myself getting ready to walk down the aisle to D, my Dad is standing behind me, and it brought back an amazing memory.

"Today" by Joshua Radin was one of the songs we included in our wedding video.......love.

Happy Friday!

My husband and I were discussing my sister's recent move to Colorado and he kindly reminded me that there's no way we could ever move out of San Diego because I may very well die without authentic Mexican food- especially my bean and cheese burritos and enchiladas rancheras.  Um.............he's right.

Happy Friday!
