New Bedding

We got new bedding ( a while ago)....and we love it.  I'm just getting around to sharing.

Euro Shams: Pottery Barn
Duvet cover and King pillow cases 100% Belgium Linen: Restoration Hardware
Standard pillow Organic Bamboo:  Pottery Barn
Monogram accent pillows:  Williams and Sonoma

If I could make one recommendation to anyone considering a monogrammed item for their home, Williams and Sonoma does not disappoint!  We have these monogrammed pillows, as well as monogrammed bath towels and they are oh so AMAZING!  They've lasted for almost 4 years and are still going strong.  Invest dollars where you see fit, ours were put toward items we are still in love with.

Coming up this week, the Style Me Pretty feature I didn't get to posting last week, and more!

Decor Miss-Outs

Do you ever look back on shopping trips and say "darn it, I should have bought that _______ when I had the chance"?  Grrrrrrrrr.

I will, for the rest of my life, wish I would have bought that darn outdoor bistro set that I saw at Amvets (second-hand Veterans Thrift Store) of $35!  What was my problem?  It was a situation of me being by myself, wondering how I'm going to get all three pieces into my Jeep, and not wanting to pay the ATM fee at the store to withdraw cash.  Was I delusional?  Next time, I'm telling myself to go for it.  This was my ultimate miss out opportunity and my Husband knows I just can let it go.  It was the perfect vintage, ratty tatty unfinished wood, slightly rusted frame, with a decent sized diameter table.  Boo.  Someone else better really be enjoying that set.  (this was probably over a year ago, can you tell I'm not over it)?  The photo below shows a similar style to what I fell in love with, except the one I adored was unfinished wood with a wood slatted table top (probably finished at one time long ago):

Also, careless mistake, was admiring Pottery Barn's knit holiday stockings and saving the photo for the after Christmas sale.  Who was I kidding, these things weren't going to go on sale, they were going to SELL OUT!  Really?  I need to step up my game.

Do you have any missed opportunities?  Something you wish you would have bought, and you could have visualized where it would have perfectly fit into your home or life?  I created a new formula for asking myself if I really love something, and D even chimes in at the store too:  If I'm eyeing something for longer than two minutes, walk around the store and go back to that item, he asks "Can you live without it, if we go back home are you going to think about it the rest of the day and have dreams about it"?    Haaaaaaa.

Holiday Spirit

I'm so ready for the holidays.  Most people gripe that it's too early to be seeing holiday decor out in stores already, music tunes playing on the radio, and commercials full of jingle bells.  I can't get enough, I love it!  It doesn't stress me out, it actually brings on the complete opposite.  I get super stoked to unload the cozy decor, fill out the Christmas cards, and enjoy hot chocolate or chai.  December holds several celebrations, Christmas, Hubby D's birthday (which is on Christmas day) and our dating anniversary on the 23rd, which also happens to be our "engagement anniversary".  So much excitement.  November is really the kick off to it all- so why not spend 2 months enjoying the season?

Surrounded by Goodies

I've got some fab recent purchases for the home to share with you all- loving!  I'll be posting a few photos of how these items have been used in our home later this week!

My obsession with pillows continues.  Ask hubby D, we can't have enough.  Most are stored for different times of year, but that's what's nice about removable covers- change 'em out and re-use the inserts.  I'm thinking of making some flannel plaid covers for this winter (um..........asking myself- when do you have time woman), but I'm digging the look and feel inspired.  Either that or an awesome deer silhouette pillow- also digging!  We picked up a few burlap covers at good 'ol PB and we couldn't be more pleased.  Perfect for fall, transitioning to winter, and we really do use them for months on out!

Festive pumpkins- these buds are faux pumpkins this year.  Proof later this week of what happens when I accessorize with real pumpkins:

I also scored an awesome basket for my S&S studio office and I'm anxiously waiting on it's arrival!  It's has a perforated front and back, with open wire sides, 13" long by 9" wide.  Adore!  I can't wait to add it to my office shelf to help me keep organized.  Purchased from my newly found fave shop, White Flower Farmhouse (my basket is the one pictured on the top in the photo):

And, the classic muffin.  We all know the flavor by now, and it will be eaten soon, so no follow up photos on this beast:

I'm Here......Really

Chaos has been the past few days, and so shall the rest of the week.  Etsy is keeping me busy this week yet again, but as I continue on projects and re-connect with past clients, it keeps the excitement rolling (Jen, you know I can't wait to make your sign)!!!

So with keeping busy, I still find the little things around the house that poke at me, wanting to be done.  We still need to update several photos in frames, spruce up the bed with an additional Euro pillow and possibly new sheets, paint and re-upholster our French desk chair, and most likely lots more.  We did invest in some new sofa pillows from Pottery Barn and OH I'm loving them so much!  Keep in mind this is a big step into store-bought pillow covers, as I usually make them myself (I guess that's what busy will do to ya).  Here's what we picked out:

Bamboo buckle pillow in white:

Solid pillow in fresa blue

Coral pillow in blue

And we bought this white one last winter, but still loving it!

Small steps in updating the house, but it's comfy, hubs and I have each other, and at the moment we are content with that!  By the way, when I throw around the word "house" loosely, I'm referring to our apartment!
